01| get yourself a friend like @koriandoli_, who sends surprise flowers to cheer you up. ♡

02 | don't get yourself a stupid virus that is still floating around. i did.

03 | in the last two weeks everything has stopped. my care-dependent dad and mom caught covid from me. it's one of the hardest times right now. we're struggling to manage daily routines while experiencing a broken health care system at first hand. we're faced with difficult decisions, and, i don't know how long my father can stay with us. it is exhausting.

04 | in the last two weeks, nothing has stopped, so i was running behind on everything else that usually constitutes daily life.

05 | self-proclaimed "early iv adopter" gwyneth paltrow has triggered me into reactivating my food journal over at @iif.eats, so feel free to tag along. it's been a nice distraction and a very millennial form of self-care.

06 & 07 | other forms of self-care have included watching nearly every movie with paul dano and brendan gleeson in it. can recommend.

how to live a life and forgo counting what number of the series this is:

01 | i wonder: who is this question directed at? this city? me? i used to write a little emo-linguistic column called "the grammar of the heart", and this would've been the perfect query and topic for it. the drama of it all!

02 | my cactus in dielheim keeps ejecting blossoms. haven't done any hoovering for three weeks now. the two of us suffer in silence while putting up with each other.

03 | we sang along to the carpenters and los rodríguez, it was sunglasses debut week, and the stupid little lit-up face on the mail truck in front of us made me so so happy.

04 | just hanging around instruments, no biggie.

05 | a poodle with an existential crisis. interesting.

06 | my auntie doesn't recognize us anymore. she doesn't remember much really. that's fine, i'll remember for the both of us. the nowness and her, they have each other now.

07 + 08 | the sun and her shadows. always a pleasure.

09 | surviving and thriving, but mostly just trying to stay awake.

february has come and gone swiftly, but not before sucker-punching me hard in the face. i tried to sucker-punch february back. without moving too much, and by inhaling sentences. they were heartbreaking and raw in "young mungo", quirky and charming in "poeta chileno", uplifting and at times very relatable in "anders bleiben", intriguing in "wordslut", absorbingly bewildering in "the shards", a little over-the-top in "i am trying to fall in love with myself but instead i keep falling in love with unemployed noise musicians who do coke and believe in the power of crystals" [insert DEEP breath here], full of fragile masculinity in "der längste, strahlendste tag", entertaining but not particularly informing on the language of fanaticism in "cultish", and disappointingly meh in "es ist zu kühl für diese jahreszeit". so there. sucker-punching is not my forte. do feel a bit more whole now tho.
